Proposed Amendment 3: Adult Personal Use of Marijuana

Proposed Amendment 1: Partisan Election of Members of District School Boards

Proposed Amendment 4: Amendment to Limit Government Interference with Abortion

This amendment is FOR legalizing the recreational use of marijuana for adults over 21 years of age.  This does NOT change the laws allowing for medical use of marijuana.  Voting NO on this amendment would stop Florida from becoming states like California and Colorado.

Proposed Amendment 4: Amendment to Limit Government Interference with Abortion

Proposed Amendment 5: Annual Adjustments to the Value of Certain Homestead Exemptions

Proposed Amendment 4: Amendment to Limit Government Interference with Abortion

Voting NO would save the lives of the unborn in the State of Florida.  This amendment is purposefully vaguely written and is too extreme for Florida.

It does 3 things:

  • Does NOT list term limits, thus allowing full term abortions.
  • Does NOT define what a "healthcare provider" is- thus opening the door to unsafe procedures done by unqualified persons.
  • REMOVES parental consent for an abortion, thus making this the ONLY procedure in the state that WILL NOT require parental consent. (they say they will 'notify' parents- that is NOT the same.)

Proposed Amendment 5: Annual Adjustments to the Value of Certain Homestead Exemptions

Proposed Amendment 5: Annual Adjustments to the Value of Certain Homestead Exemptions

Proposed Amendment 5: Annual Adjustments to the Value of Certain Homestead Exemptions

Voting YES on this would give an additional homestead exemption to homeowners who qualify.

Voting YES on this will also pass on the deficit to the local municipalities who use these funds.  This could also potentially burden NON homestead exempt property owners such as landlords and businesses- and is considered a tax 'shift' by some.  This burden could possibly be shifted from landlords to tenants, thus inflating our rental market further.

Proposed Amendment 6: Repeal of Public Campaign Financing Requirement

Proposed Amendment 5: Annual Adjustments to the Value of Certain Homestead Exemptions

Proposed Amendment 5: Annual Adjustments to the Value of Certain Homestead Exemptions

Voting YES would no longer allow taxpayer dollars to go to match campaign contributions of $250 or less made by Florida residents to state-wide candidates for Governor, Attorney General of Florida, etc.

In 1999, Florida voters amended the Florida Constitution to use taxpayer dollars to match campaign contributions of $250 or less, with the idea being to help fight the influence of big-money donations in Florida races.

Many of us believe those tax payer dollars could be used for more important things.
